VEX Robotics Competition

VEX ROBOTICS COMPETITION

What is vex robotics?

Established in 2004, VEX Robotics, presented by the REC (Robotics Education & Competition) Foundation, is a global robotics organization. Its goal is to spark interest in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) by engaging students in hands-on, sustainable, and affordable curriculum-based robotics programs.

Each year, a new game is introduced where students take on an exciting engineering challenge. Students must work together to research, prototype, build, and test their robots during a year-long season. During each season, multiple regional tournaments are held for teams to interact with each other and improve their robots. The season concludes with Regional State Championships and the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

Check out the VEX website for more information about each program and their game!

OUR TEAMS

Our VEX Teams consist of High School team 359B, and Middle School Teams 3590A, and 3590B. Our program strives to educate our students through hands-on curriculum and encourages the development of problem-solving skills, and critical thinking, creative and innovative reasoning. Students are tasked with designing, building, and programming a robot to compete with an alliance and two other teams.

Over Under

VEX Robotics Competition

VEX Robotics Competition Over Under is played on a 12’ x 12’ square field. Two (2) Alliances – one (1) “red” and one (1) “blue” – composed of two (2) Teams each, compete in matches consisting of a fifteen (15) second Autonomous Period, followed by a one minute and forty-five second (1:45) Driver Controlled Period.

The object of the game is to attain a higher score than the opposing Alliance by Scoring Triballs in Goals, and by Elevating at the end of the Match.
