On December 9th, Team 359: Hawaiian Kids proudly hosted the eagerly anticipated 2023 North Shore VEX Tournament. Our annual event has become a cornerstone of our team’s activities, bringing together bright minds and robotics enthusiasts from across the State. As the teams prepared for a day of intense competition, our students, parents, and a dedicated team of volunteers united in a shared effort to ensure the success of the event. The day was a celebration of community, teamwork, and the spirit of STEM education.
FACILITY TOURS
Amidst the bustling activity of the tournament, we seized the opportunity to showcase our program to attendees. During the lunch break, our team conducted a guided tour of our facilities. Visitors got an inside look at our ongoing projects and advanced equipment in our Stem Learning Center. The tour was not only a chance to display our progress but also an opportunity to inspire and educate others about the fascinating world of robotics and the impact of STEM initiatives.
BEHIND-The-SCENES
Hosting a VEX Robotics tournament is undoubtedly a lot of work, but for us, the effort is always worth it. The tournament is more than just a competition; it’s a platform for learning, sharing, and growing together as a community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all the wonderful volunteers, without whom this event would not have been possible. Their dedication and support played a crucial role in the smooth execution and success of the tournament. The event has once again reinforced our commitment to fostering a love for STEM and robotics, paving the way for future innovations and collaborations!
COMPETITION THRILL
The competition itself was nothing short of electrifying! Teams from various schools brought their A-game, engaging in a series of matches that were as much about robotics as they were about strategic thinking and problem-solving. Each match saw students navigating their robots with precision and skill, aiming to maximize their game points. The air was charged with excitement and determination, as each team put forth their best efforts to outmaneuver and outscore their opponents.
AWARDS CEREMONY
The eagerly anticipated awards ceremony applauded the hard work, creativity, and sportsmanship of all the participating teams. Our shop had the honor of creating custom trophies, adding a unique Waialua touch to the accolades. The trophies are not only symbols of achievement but also of the innovation and craftsmanship that our team cherishes.
