NS VEX & VEX IQ TOURNAMENTS

Humble Beginnings

Starting in the Fall of 2013, the North Shore VEX Tournament has become a staple event for every VEX Season. Originally held in our cafeteria, the event was small, simple, and lacking in space. Space was so limited that the skills challenge fields had to be held in what is now our Control Systems room leaving many teams needing to carry their robots across grass, dirt, and a road in order to get to their skills challenge.

Expanding our Horizons

With the North Shore VEX & VEX IQ Tournaments now successes, we continued to expand them, making them both better with each passing year. Now for VEX, we allow both high school and middle school teams to compete, greatly increased the number of teams supporting our tournament and allowed previous teams and students who couldn’t compete, a chance to do so at our event. We also expanded to the point that our small cafeteria could no longer support our tournaments so we moved it into our gym and have held it there ever since.

As well as our Regular NS VEX & VEX IQ Tournaments, we also hosted big events like The Pan Pacific Signature Event as well as the 2023 FLL State Championships.

A High IQ

In the Spring of 2013, VEX unveiled there sister competition, VEX IQ, targeting elementary school students as well as middle school students. We took that challenge head-on and in the fall of 2015, we held our first-ever NS VEX IQ Tournament.

Unfortunately, VEX IQ has been discontinued from our team as of 2022.
