Week Six
Aloha! Welcome to the Sixth week of the 2025 REEFSCAPE Build Season!
Check out our Week Six recap on YouTube!
Day 38
On Sunday we took a momentary break since it was the Superbowl, and with only a few days left, time is of the essence for our team! The Control Systems started the day testing and fixing the drive train for the practice robot, finishing up wiring and debugging issues of the competition robot. The Construction team continued to machine the spare parts, laser cutting with the Fab light, getting their hands dirty with sand blasting and powder coating, and eventually drying them for future use on the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation team used their day continuing to practice the FIRST Impact Award presentation, collected clips from the day, and took more photos and videos. So close to the end of Build Season as a whole, and our excitement is immeasurable!
Day 39
We’re back, and it's already Day 39! The Construction team continued machining the spare competition robot parts, starting with CADing them, and later got their hands dirty with water jetting, lathing, tapping, powder coating, and finished them by drying the said parts. The Control Systems worked on the drive train, fixing the odometry issues with it, and continued to run autos. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started taking photos and videos throughout the day, documenting everything that’s going on, and finally collecting all the clips for the future robot reveal. The clock is ticking on the Build Season, and our determination only grows more through the days!
Day 40
Continuing to the end of Build Season and on Day 40, we got busy! Today Saint Louis came over to test their robot on our practice field. Meanwhile, the Construction team students continued machining spare competition robot parts, laser cutting, cutting parts manually, and lathing them. Control Systems started the day with finalizing set positions, ran autos, practiced driving with the competition robot, while the newer students helped finish up the wiring diagram for the different electronics of the robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation team started the day with practicing their presentation for the FIRST Impact Award, took more photos and video clips, and collected more clips to edit the Week 6 Recap Video. It’s a race against time, and we only have a few more days of Build Season!
Day 41
We’re getting closer to the very end of Build Season, and we continue to thrive with hard work! Control Systems started the day working on autos, fixing wiring problems within the robot, and finished by practicing driving. The Construction team continued to create more spare competition parts, by tapping, drilling, and lathing them, while also helping the Control Systems fix the hard stop of the robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation students continued to practice the FIRST Impact Award presentation, and documented all the various hard work throughout the day. As the hours flew by, we are gaining more determination and can’t wait for the future!
Day 42
We’re already halfway there, and time is speeding up at a fast pace for our team! The Control Systems subsystem started the day testing autos, and speeding up the scoring capabilities of the robot. The Construction subsystem continued to machine and create more spare competition robot parts, by lathing, tapping, and water jetting them. The Business, Media, and Documentation subsystem continued collecting more clips from the day to further edit the Week 6 Recap Video, practiced the FIRST Impact Award, finalized the presentation slides, and documented all the photos and videos from the week. The time and our days are counting down fast, and we’re getting closer to the end of our Build Season
Day 43
The day began energetically, kicking off with a lively start. Today, the Control Systems subsystem focused on refining the robot's autonomous routines and optimizing its scoring capabilities. The Construction subsystem diligently machined and produced spare competition robot parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation subsystem gathered additional footage for the Week 6 Recap Video, practiced the FIRST Impact Award presentation, finalized the accompanying slides, and started the Week 6 Weekly Recap Video. With each passing day, we draw nearer to the conclusion of our Build Season, and our collective efforts propel us towards a successful outcome!
Day 44
It's the start of our Crunch time for Build Season! The Control Systems subsystem started running autonomous routes for more scoring capabilities, practiced with the robot, and finalized the competition robot as a whole. The Construction subsystem continued to machine and produce the spare competition robot parts, getting their hands dirty with drilling, tapping, lathing, and water jetting the said parts. The Business, Media, and Documentation subsystem started the day practicing on the FIRST Impact Award Presentation, documented more photos and videos, and collected more clips for the Week 6 Recap Video. With starting our Crunch time, we have no time to spare for this challenging Build Season!
Day 45
We are continuing Build Season with only 5 days before we leave for the 2025 Canadian Pacific Regional! As we begin to prepare for the tournament, our Control Systems subteam has continued working on autonomous pathing for the competition robot and adjusting different routes for maximum efficiency scoring. Meanwhile, the Construction subteam has worked on producing spare competition robot parts alongside working with Control Systems on robot scoring capabilities. The Business, Media, and Documentation subteam uploaded the Weekly Recap video to our YouTube and Instagram while beginning to work on a Robot Reveal video before leaving for our upcoming tournament! As this Build Season ends, we are reflecting back on all the progress we have made and are excited for the upcoming 2025 Competition Season!
Day 46
Nothing built can last forever and we only have 4 more days before the 2025 Canadian Regional! The Control Systems subsystem continued to work on the autonomous pathing with the competition robot, practiced the driving capabilities, and set the robot up to being ready for the future competition. The Construction subsystem started the day with continued work alongside Control Systems for robot driving capabilities and scoring. The Business, Media, and Documentation subsystem continued practicing the FIRST Impact Award presentations, collecting clips for the Robot Reveal Video, and documented everything from today’s hard work. Build Season is coming to an eventual end, and we’re excited for the future Canadian Pacific Regional Tournament and what it’ll bring us!
Day 47
As one story comes to an end, another one shall begin and we only have 3 more days before the eventual 2025 Canadian Pacific Regional! The Control Systems subsystem started the day working on the autonomous pathing for the scoring ability of the competition robot, and ended the day with continued practice on the driving. The Construction subsystem continued to help and work alongside the Control Systems for the scoring of the competition robot. The Business, Media, and Documentation subsystem practiced the FIRST Impact Award presentations one final time, took more photos and videos from the day, and collected more clips for the continued editing of the eventual Robot Reveal video. With this most likely being the last time you’ll hear from us, We’d like to thank you for reading and it's time for a new adventure!
