VRC HS STATES
January 2025
Team 359B, arrived at the High School State Championship, at the Readiness Center located in the Hawaii Army National Guard, Kapolei, excited to see what the day would bring!
INTENSE MATCHES
The Readiness Center buzzed with excitement as 32 teams from Hawaii united for a thrilling mix of teamwork and competition. Each team was battling head-to-head for a chance to snag one of the 5 spots for VEX Worlds. It was exhilarating seeing our ranks move up with each victory.
ALLIANCE SELECTION
One exceptional moment of team collaboration was in match 5-1 of the round of 16. Team 359B and 42700E discussed strategies to find one that ensured the best performance out of each robot and skillset. Because we collaborate with them in our FRC program we know each other well and can communicate more effectively. Through this, their alliance was able to score the victory with a score of 43 to 3. Although we were proud of our accomplishment, the main thing we took away was communication and collaboration are key factors to success.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP!
We are so grateful to our mentors for guiding us all season, especially Ms. Arellano who even though is a full-time college student, still paves the way for our young innovators. We couldn’t have done it without them! And for each team's hard work and perseverance to always improve. Since three of our teams qualified for VEX Worlds, they will be in preparation for the challenging competition to come. See us there!
TEAM ARRIVAL AND PREPERATION
Upon arrival, team 359B set up their table and prepared for inspection. After passing successfully they made their way to the practice fields to make sure their autos were running in tip-top shape. They were pumped up and ready to compete!
TEAM COLLABORATIONS
Team 359B successfully made it to playoffs, as they were ranked 3rd overall. They chose team 42700E: Enigma, to be their partner. The teams showcased impressive unity and drive as the competition progressed. They drove their robots across the field, collecting rings to rack up points. Their calculated actions and unwavering focus highlighted their outstanding ability to work together and think strategically. 42700E and 359B made it through the round of 16 and quarterfinals but were sadly defeated in the semifinals.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS AND CELEBRATIONS
By the end of this exciting day, Team 359B placed 3rd with a record of 8-1-0 (win-lose-tie). Even though they lost in the end, they knew they had given it their all. However, we ended the day on a high note, our team qualified for VEX Worlds because of the Skills Challenge, which they placed 3rd in!
