VRC KAISER
December 2024
On December 20th, 2024, Teams 3590A, and 3590C arrived at Kaiser High School, ready to compete!
INTENSE MATCHES
Kaiser High School was lively, as 30 teams from all over the island gathered for a thrilling robotics event. The blend of camaraderie and friendly competition participants to do their best! They eagerly anticipated showcasing their skills and engaging in challenging contests. The contagious energy created lasting memories for everyone involved.
TEAM COLLABORATIONS
The highly anticipated Alliance Selection began, and teams carefully considered potential partnerships and devised their strategies. Everyone eagerly waited to learn which teams would advance to the Elimination rounds and which ones would be left behind. 3590C, placed 2nd overall, chose team 42700E, Enigma, to form their 2nd seed alliance. 3590A, placed 26th, joined forces with 96768K to form the 7th seed. Unfortunately, only 3590C and 42700E were able to advance to finals, as 3590A and 96768K were eliminated in the Round of 16. There, they faced a formidable challenge, teams 96789X and 96789Z, the first seed alliance. Despite the best efforts and remarkable teamwork displayed by 3590C and 42700E, they ultimately fell short in the Finals with a score of 26-34.
TOURNAMENT RESULTS AND CELEBRATIONS
As the event came to an end, Team 3590C stood tall in 2nd place, with a win-lose-tie record of 7-0-0. Meanwhile, 3590A secured 26th position with a 2-5-0 record. 3590C's remarkable consistency and prowess in both qualifications and skills did not go unnoticed, earning them the prestigious Middle School Excellence Award. Although none of the teams won the overall competition, the teams took valuable lessons away from the experience and are excited to keep improving. We are super proud of them as they continue to thrive and grow.
TEAM ARRIVAL AND PREPARATION
Teams 3590A and 3590C arrived at the Kaiser New Year’s VRC High Stakes Competition, prepared for action! Our young competitors couldn't wait to showcase their hard work as they reached their tables and promptly prepared their robots for inspections. Shortly after passing, the teams headed to the practice fields to fine-tune their robots' autonomous programs, driving, skills, and capabilities. The atmosphere was electric and our students were excited to start the day!
ALLIANCE SELECTIONS
A moment of collaboration was between teams 3590A and 42700A in qualification 53. They discussed the match strategy to find one that would suit their robots, and drivers, and program the best. Unfortunately, they lost but they considered it a win in the end because of the effective collaboration and communication.
LOOKING AHEAD
Teams 3590A and 3590C are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to compete at Kaiser High School. And we couldn't have done it without our amazing mentors!
