Week Six

Aloha! Welcome to the Sixth week of the 2022 RAPID REACT Build Season!

Day 37

After a day off yesterday, we begin Week 6 without a hitch. Construction team continues making spare parts and have weighed the competition robot to see if any last minute weight relief can be achieved. Control Systems finalize the wiring so that practice can officially begin tomorrow. Documentation finalizes the clips for the Chairman’s video now needing the interview portion and an ending graphic.

Day 38

With Week 6 under way, the pressure is on. Construction team is still hard at work with the fabrication of spare parts, and have continued with their weight relieved designs for the competition robot. While this was happening, Control Systems was fine tuning the code for the robot to get  it ready for practicing. Meanwhile, Documentation continues their work on the Chairman’s video receiving comments from mentors on where improvements can be made.

Day 39

As Build Season gets closer and closer to ending, we remain vigilant in order to get our work done. Construction team have tested their weight relieved designs on the robot to see if they can withstand any amount of stress they might receive. With that, Control Systems continue fine tuning the robots code and practice driving the robot with new parts attached. Documentation meanwhile has been busy keeping up to date with their Chairman’s video, along with photos and videos daily for updates.

Day 40

The end of the week draws closer and we’re still super busy. The Construction team works with Control Systems as they continue testing the weight relieved parts for potential stress or breakage. Control Systems also began the basics of the robots autonomous setting up how the balls are to be positioned on the practice field like in regular competitions. All the while, Documentation have been finalizing their second draft of the Chairman’s award moving around clips within it to better fit the script.

Day 41

We’re in the endgame now as Week 6 is now only one day away from ending and we still have so much to do. Construction team has been continuing making and testing new weight relieved parts as some parts on the robot did show signs of stress through these tests prompting them to change the parts. Control Systems continue their work on the robots autonomous prepping the motors on the robot for more precision accuracy with the main autonomous program to begin tomorrow. Documentation meanwhile, has created a second draft of their Chairman’s video and are awaiting feedback from mentors while also posting the Week 5 video.

Day 42

It’s the final countdown as Week 6 comes to a close and we enter our Crunch Time. With the addition of new weight relief parts added to the robot, the Construction team observe the testing of the robot to check for potential damage/breakage of these new parts. Control Systems meanwhile, continue their work on the autonomous going into greater depth to get at least one autonomous code operational. With all that, Documentation has reached their own homestretch with the Chairman’s video only needing to change minor things before finalization.

Day 43: Crunch Time

It is now the beginning of the end as we move into our Crunch Time. Construction team continue making spare parts and testing weight relieved parts to get everything finalized before competitions start. Control Systems work to complete their autonomous getting a rough look at what it’ll do going forward. Meanwhile, Documentation move from the Chairman’s video and focus on making adjustments to the powerpoint, changing photos, and fine tuning the layout.

Day 44: Crunch Time

Build Season is almost officially over and with what time we have left, we’re really trying to maximize it. Along with more trials of various spare/weight relieved parts, the Construction team worked on minor things today like making the banner stand fit for our pit area at competitions. Control Systems on the other hand, continued testing and tuning the autonomi hoping to finalize everything by the end of the day. Documentation also had final adjustments to make, this being on the Chairman’s powerpoint along with assisting in mock interviews with our Dean’s List candidates.

Day 45: Crunch Time

We’ve made it to the final official day of the Build Season and we must make the most of our time. Construction team continue making spare parts and will remain working on them for the next few days before we leave for competitions. Control Systems fine tune the autonomi and continue their tests and with the help of the practice robot, they’re able to continue the tuning even with the competition robot gone. Meanwhile, Documentation finalized the Chairman’s video and the powerpoint to get it all ready for competitions. Thank you for joining us on this journey through the Build Season. Stay tuned for updates on our upcoming competitions and we’ll see you again next year!!
