VRC PEARL CITY HIGH SCHOOL


OCTOBER 2022

On October 10th, VEX VRC Teams 359B, 359C, 3590A, and 3590B competed at the Pearl City High School VEX Robotics Competition.



PUSHING THROUGH…

With a total of 29 teams competing and all looking to win, Team 359 had some tough competition! Although, students managed to push through and Team 3590B ended 3rd with a perfect record of 6-0-0 (Win-Lose-Tie). Teams 359B and 3590A ended 4th and 5th, both with a score of 5-1-0, only losing one match. While Team 359C ended 7th with a score of 4-2-0. 



FINALS!

With qualification matches over, students began analyzing their scouting lists and speaking with other teams for their chance at the top alliance! Team 3590B aligned with 3590A. Team 359B aligned with Team 3685B, Searider Tech. Finally Team 359C aligned with 3685C, Robo Riders. With teams aligned, teams prepared for playoffs.



LOAD IN

In preparation for this week’s tournament, students prepared by working with their teams to complete their robot adjustments and notebooks before packing their supplies and robots for the tournament. Once we arrived at Pearl City High School students unpacked their things and prepared the robot for inspection. After passing inspection, teams split up to work on scouting and strategizing for upcoming matches to get the best results!



ALLIANCE SELECTIONS

Team 3590A and 3590B were unfortunately eliminated from their quarterfinal rounds. While team 359B and 359C won their quarterfinal round moving them onto the semifinals where Team 359C lost by a total of 76 points eliminating them from the competition. Team 359B won their semifinal round moving them onto the finals! During the finals, the first round had to be replayed and in the second finals round Team 359B and Team 3685B had lost the final match by 62 points, making them the 2022 PCHS finalist.



END!

Despite losing in the quarterfinals, semifinals, and in the final round. We learned a lot more about competitions and are inspired to continue working with our teammates to make improvements to our robot and drive strategy! There is still so much of this season left and we can’t wait to continue attending competitions!
