VRC High school State Championship
january 2024
With our whole season leading up to this moment, our high school team, 359B, was ready bright and early for the competitive and exciting state championships! We are so grateful to be surrounded by so many highly-skilled teams and to have the opportunity to compete in the state championships.
Alliance selections
With the last of the qualification matches ending, it was finally time for the moment we had been waiting for, alliance selections. With so many skilled teams, it was hard to anticipate what would ensue next. With the 4th pick of the tournament, 359B was selected by Team 96789Z, The Millilani Mechs, and became the 4th alliance. Through our partnerships at the North Shore tournament and working with their members in FRC, we came up with good strategies to implement and communicated really well. Ultimately, we were finally ready for the eliminations round to begin.
As this season comes to a close, Team 359B is so grateful to have been able to participate as one of many teams in the 2023-2024 Over-Under VRC Competition. This season has helped this group of young students to continue growing and making new friendships. With 3 more years still awaiting them, they are excited for what next season may bring and are so thankful for our wonderful mentors who have made this season and its many competitions possible. Until next season, Imua Waialua!
Intense Matches
Considering this was states, our team really brought their A game, strategizing with partners, getting in their skills runs, and ultimately working hard and doing their best. They knew that this would be an intensive day filled with lots of action and amazing robots. Through it all, 359B continued to persevere and obtain desirable outcomes.
TOurnament Results
By the end of this exciting day, Team 359B placed 12th place with a record of 5-3-0 (win-lose-tie), making it to the semi-finals and being eliminated. Even though we were not able to win the tournament and qualify for worlds, we still learned so much from this season and ultimately gained more experience along with having lots of fun.
