Special Olympics

Published by Waialua Robotics on

Every Summer, the Hawaii Special Olympics is hosted for local athletes to participate in and for the public to view. Team 359 volunteers through Castle and Cooke Hawaii to prepare and distribute packed lunches for participants and fellow volunteers. These packed lunches include various prepared meals by our team, such as grilled cheese sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs, and many more. Through this event, our team can experience the act of helping-hands, not for ourselves but the hard-working keiki and adults. Preparing lunches may not seem like much, but our students can spread the FIRST/our team’s mission through non-robotics affiliated volunteers while having a great time! At the end of our shifts, we get to enjoy the rest of our day by supporting our local athletes representing the Waialua community.
