Team 359 flew across islands to compete at the Maui VEX Tournament at Maui High School. While 359A & B were at Maui, the other 359 teams were competing back home at another VEX Tournament in West Oahu. The team got there on Friday, October 16th and immediately got to work. They first started to set up their equipment in order for them to be organized and ready for the competition the next day. Both teams worked on programming skills so they could rank one and win autonomous. They knew that this was going to be a tough competition because of all of the other hard working teams with their excellent robots, but The Hawaiian Kids never gives up and always perseveres. The team ended their day with a nice hike at Haleakala National Park.

The next day was the actual competitions with qualification matches. Both 359A & B had their game faces on. They were ready to have fun and play some ball with robots. Fortunately both teams were undefeated in all qualification matches with lots of high scores that included 100+ points. In rankings, Team 359A was ranked #1 and Team 359B was right behind them, ranking #2. 359 paired up as an alliance and chose 2443 Blue Thunder as their 3rd alliance partner. The Hawaiian Kids left Maui with the Tournament Champion award, and couldn't forget to stop by for some Krispy Kreme Doughnuts!
