Today Team 359 made a significant amount of progress.  They are closer each day to finishing up the robot and handing it off for wiring and testing. The construction team finished up the transmission and the supports for the lift. They also cut extra parts with the water jet. Construction support is ahead of schedule having polished all the necessary parts.  The documentation team has been doing a great job of taking pictures, updating and improving the website. The electronics section has created a working prototype board and is hoping to drive soon. Overall, the team is progressing at a decent speed and will be ready for the end of build season.

After a weekend of hard work, week four is finally here. Team 359 is headed towards the final stages of construction. The construction team is cutting out additional pieces for the robot as well as work on the drawings of the final product. The mentors are helping to put together the pieces we have already made to the frame. The programming team is set and ready for the completion of the robot so that they can get to work. The video team is working on adding video clips to the week four video as well as organizing all of the daily articles.

As week four reached its halfway point, Team 359 was hard at work making sure that the robot is up to par. A lot got done today, and not a single minute was left unused. In the auto shop, the construction was busy making and refining parts by using the water jet, mill, horizontal bandsaw, shear, and lathe. And if they weren’t working with the machines, construction was doing their very best making CAD models of the robot. The programming team was once again hard at work wiring the control board so that it is both organized and effective, both mechanically and electronically. And always eager to help out, construction support was also busy supervising the machines and learning how to use new ones. Just like always, documentation was taking pictures and videos to showcase all the hard work that we’ve been doing.

Once again, today was an extremely productive day. The team spent hours making sure that our robot is finished, and so far, things have been going pretty well, just like every other day. A lot of efforts has been put into what we do to ensure that this year’s robot is made with the same quality as every other year’s. We can’t wait for what happens next during this build season, and we look forward to seeing our finished robot in action!

As week four continues to head towards week five, all aspects of the team continue to work diligently towards completing a fully functional robot.  Control systems kept thinking of new ways to make electronic additions to the robot more convenient for the drive team.  In the auto shop, the construction team built and assembled parts for the robot and taught the younger members of construction support how to operate the various machines.  The animation team designed the room in that their competition animation will take place.  As the day wrapped up and competition season crept a little closer, everyone on the team finished up a day of hard work and prepared for another one tomorrow.

The team climbed a pretty big ledge today, but it isn’t over yet. With week 4 coming to an end the construction team has gone past full speed as they continue to work endlessly. They had created a prototype mount to assist picking up the crates. They also created and tested how the crates fit with the intake, from the ground. Needless to say even the precursor to the intake parts were impressive. The control systems team had already started programming and is now patiently waiting for the robot to be handed over to them to be programmed. They also continued to help the construction team with testing pneumatics and other tasks. The last job we did tonight was testing how much crates the lift can stack which was a very impressive number.
