Team 359 coordinator Glenn Lee was recently awarded the title of Teacher of the Year 2009 for the Central District of Hawaii. His prize package included $500, Smart Technology Software, and recognition by the state. On Thursday, November 13, 2008, a TV crew contracted by Olelo television came to Waialua High School to interview Mr. Lee, a selected parent, a coworker, and a student about his outstanding abilities as an educator. Mr. Lee says that his greatest contribution to education has been “helping to bring robotics education to the forefront in Hawaii, which ultimately puts a priority on science, technology, engineering and math.” Footage highlighting our robotics program was also shot to accompany the interviews and we are extremely proud of Mr. Lee for his defining accomplishments. The television program highlighting Mr. Lee as well as the other teachers of the year in various districts, aired in December on local television channels 54, 55, 56, and 57.
